Jukdo Park

Songjeong Beach and Jukdo Park, 

a harmony of vitality and tranquility!

If Haeundae is an international attraction, Songjeong is a domestic attraction.  

If Haeundae has a sea of seniors in their 50s or 60s, Songjeong has a sea of young people in their 20s or 30s. If you go to Songjeong Beach, it is crowded with young people who enjoy surfing all year round.  

There is no problem even if a person traveling from out of town wants to surf.  

This is because there is a surfing school and a surfboard rental shop. There are also teenagers playing ball and flying kites on the white sand beach.

There are many people sitting on the steps of the white sand beach and looking at the scenery.  

The author also often visits Songjeong Beach on weekends. Just sitting on the stairs and looking at the scenery of Songjeong Beach gives me strength. 

However, Songjeong is not the only beach.  If you walk to the left end of the white sand beach, you will find Jukdo Park, which is like a ‘secret garden’.  

It may have originally received its name due to the abundance of bamboo, but now there are no bamboos and it has long since turned into a pine forest. This park is not a flat park, but a park made up of pine forests.  

One hour is enough to walk around the park along the trail.  If you walk up the stairs from the entrance, you will see a path filled with the scent of pine trees.  

If you walk along the road for about ten minutes, an octagonal pavilion will appear on the beach.

There are countless reasons why this pavillion is exellent.  But I will introduce only three.

First, there is a floor and a railing. Even if your group is less than 20 people, you can sit together. 

Second, it is the best observatory. Tsushima can be seen on a clear day, and it is also great to watch the sunset during dusk. 

Third, it is also the best place for a picnic or date.

Depending on who you visit and when you visit, a variety of events are possible.  If possible, please go up to the pavilion on a night when the full moon is shining.  It will be an unforgettable memory for a lifetime.

송정 죽도공원

[해운대 재발견 #21]

송정비치와 죽도공원, 활력과 고요의 조화!

해운대가 국제적인 명소라면, 송정은 국내용  명소다. 해운대에 오육십 대 어르신의 바다가 있면, 송정에는 이삼십 대 청년의 바다가 있다. 

송정 비치에 가면 사계절 서핑을 즐기는 청년들로 북적인다. 타지에서 여행 온 사람이 서핑을 하고 싶어도 문제 없다. 서핑스쿨도 있고, 서핑보드 대여점도 있기 때문이다. 

또한 백사장에는 공놀이, 연날리기 하는 청소년들도 있다.  

백사장 계단에 앉아 그 풍경을 바라보는 이들도 많다. 필자 역시 주말이면 송정 비치를 자주 찾는다. 계단에 앉아 송정 해변의 풍경을 구경만 해도 힘이 솟기 때문이다.

그렇다고 송정에는 비치만 있는 게 아니다. 백사장의 왼쪽 끝으로 걸어가면 '비밀의 화원' 같은 죽도공원이 나온다. 본래 대나무가 많아 그 이름을 얻었겠지만 지금은 대나무는 없고 소나무 숲으로 변한 지 오래다. 

이 공원은 평지공원이 아니라 소나무 숲으로 이뤄진 공원이다. 오솔길을 따라 공원을 한 바퀴 돌면 1시간이면 충분하다. 입구에서 계단을 걸어 올라 가면 솔향기가 솔솔 풍기는 오솔길이 나타난다. 길 따라 십분 정도 걸어가면 바닷가에 팔각정 정자가 나타난다. 

이 팔각정 정자가 좋은 이유를 들자면 헤아릴 수 없이 많다. 하지만 세 가지만 소개한다. 

첫째, 마루도 있고 난간도 있다. 일행이 20명 이내라도 함께 둘러앉을 수 있다. 

둘째, 최고의 전망대이다.  맑은 날엔 쓰시마가 보이고, 해거름 때 일몰을 구경하기도 정말 좋다. 

셋째, 피크닉 또는 데이트 장소로도 최고다. 

당신이 누구랑 언제 이곳을 찾는가에 따라 얼마든지 다양한 이벤트도 가능하다. 기왕이면 보름달이 휘영청 뜬 밤에 정자에 올라보시기 바란다. 평생 잊지 못할 추억이 될 것이다.
